** Research on migration and urban development in Africa has primarily foc=
used on larger cities and rural-to-urban migration. However=2C 97 percent=
 of Africa=E2=80=99s urban centers have fewer than 300=2C000 inhabitants=
=2C and a sizable share of urban migrants come from other urban areas. A m=
ore holistic and dynamic perspective=2C incorporating migration flows alon=

 to better understand and leverage migration for urban development.
